Epson Stylus CX7400 Inkjet Printer – A User Review

My husband bought me my Epson CX7400 last year for our anniversary. I use it quite often, however, our old one had completely died.
It is a basic three-in-one, but suits my needs perfectly. Being an Ebay seller and an very active member at paperbackswap, the scanner never rests. The copier is mainly used for Bible verse memory booklets for my Bible classes. I usually wait until the last minute to make the copies I need. I don’t like to take the chance that the church secretary will be too busy to get to them. The printer saves me a trip to the library when I want to print off a college paper, an internet coupon, or a coloring sheet for my kids. The internet is such a wonderful tool, however, you can not use it to its’ full capacity if you do not own a printer.
This particular model is a money saver. There are four different ink cartridges for the Epson CX7400. If you run out of yellow (T069420), you do not have to throw out the rest of the ink. Also, your papers will print solid until the ink is completely empty. This energy efficient machine costs less than $100.
The Epson CX7400 does not have all the bells and whistles of other printers, but as a basic printer you can not beat it!
Lyn’s Note: The CX7400 uses the following epson ink cartridges: T069120, T069220, T069320 and T069420

I use an Epson CX 5000. I am a music teacher and to motivate a violin student, I asked her if she wanted to make a CD that she could give to her friends and relatives for Christmas. She was seven at the time.
Over a couple of months, we recorded the music. Then I created an insert for the CD with pictures of all the participants (her grandmother and great-grandmother played music with her for the CD) and a little biographical statement that the student wrote. I printed it out on glossy paper and it looked very much like a professionally-printed CD insert. I also created a sticker to go on the CD that had a picture of the student and the tracks printed on it. It was a circular sticker designed for CD’s, so the CD itself looked pretty good.
We made 30 copies and she was able to give it to her friends. This was a highly motivating project for her–she worked really hard on her music and the result sounded and looked good because of the capabilities of the Epson inkjet printer.

Lyn’s Note: That is a FANTASTIC use of your printer. But I’m even more impressed at your skill and talents motivating your students! This world could use a few more just like you! Thank You for sharing your creativity with us.
P. S. Many of the Epson models will print directly on a printable cd. Off the top of my head, the Epson Stylus Photo R280, Photo 1400, The Photo RX595 and the Photo RX680 will all print directly on a CD/DVD. I’m sure there are a few more.
