Scrapbooking with your Printer - User Tips
Here is another tip submitted by our users. . .
I have an HP inkjet printer and I use it for many different projects. I scrapbook a lot and like to include lots of journaling in my pages. But I hate my handwriting! I like a nice, clean, polished look for my pages. So I will write my journaling entries on the computer, then run scrapbook paper through the printer and print directly on it. I’ll sometimes do this with titles as well.
Since I don’t have access to a die-cut machine, I also make my own “die cuts” with the help of my printer. I print the title page in any font and size I want, then print it out on regular printer paper, tape it on top of a sheet of scrapbooking paper, then cut out each letter with a scissors. It takes some time but the finished “die cuts” are beautiful. I have hundreds of fonts to choose from, and I can make them any size I want (unlike with a traditional die-cut machine).
Lyn's Note: Printing your custom pages on scrapbook paper is another great idea! I think i'm the only one who can read my handwriting (only about 1/2 the time) so I know where you're coming from. I'm a big fan of making my own custom items with my printer.

This is such a greata article for tips on scrap booking! I ahve been looking to get into that with my kids this summer and now feel comfortable enough to be able to start. Thanks!
My only concern with using my printer for scrapbooking is whether or not the ink is archival quality. I'd hate to do all that work on a page, then have my printer generated journaling fade or *shudder* dammage the photos. Do you have any thoughts?
