MICR Toner - What is MICR Toner?

MICR Check LineMICR Toner is a specially formulated toner used in the Magnetic Ink Character Recognition process. It usually contains iron oxide which makes the toner "magnetic". MICR Toner It is typically used in the check printing process to print the routing number, the account number and the check number along the bottom of a bank check.

MICR allows banks to quickly and accurately scan and process checks by scanning them with special check readers. Printing your own checks without the use of MICR Toner could result in bank processing fees as each check that can not be read by a check scanner will have to be entered by hand.

In order to print your own checks, you will need a capable laser printer, blank check stock, check printing software and of course MICR Toner. Inkcarts.com offers complete line of MICR Toner for HP, Lexmark, IBM, Troy and many other brands of laser printers.

I always like hearing of ways to save resources. I work in an office, and I see everyone wasting a lot of paper and ink because they are so busy. These tips are easy and take little time. Thank you!

I think the idea of using remanufacuted toner cartridges has the most green impact. It's a huge cost savings for the user and doesn't use as many resources as using original cartidges all the time.

Tip #19 is spot-on! Whenever I get a printer pop up warning me that my ink is low, I tend to ignore it and just keep on printing as long as I possibly can. Everyone should print until they have used up every last drop of ink in the cartridge. We can save money and resources by not tossing the cartridge until it is dry.
