Establish Your Brand Using Your Inkjet Printer – User Tips

As soon as I bought an HP Inkjet 3650 printer for my antique shop I began to find creative uses for it. I printed signs, I printed tags and I printed pictures.

First, I used it to print signs for various areas in my shop. I had a digital version of a logo that had been designed by a graphic artist and I decided on a color theme for all the signage in the shop. I used cream paper and printed everything in brown ink. It looked classy.

Next, I printed lovely, big Art Nouveau tags for all my furniture. My daughter had given me a book/CD that contained a couple of hundred Art Nouveau designs, including borders. I used the borders to create the tags on the cream paper.

Finally, I had copyright-free art work, like cigar bands and perfume labels, that I scanned, printed and dry mounted in attractive groupings.

My printer was really helpful to me. It helped me establish my brand and create a saleable product. I had such fun doing this that I have been easing into scrapbooking using my vintage greeting cards.

Lyn’s Note: Wow! Another wonderful user tip. It’s nice to walk into a shop where the owner has paid attention to the little things! The Deskjet 3650 is a nice printer, and you can save a little money by purchasing the black #27 cartridge 2-pack.

Ink Cartridges – HP Deskjet 6940 Inkjet Printer – A User Review

HP Deskjet 6940 Color Inkjet Printer

I bought this printer for my small home business and I could not be happier about it. The black and white printing is quite fast and excellent quality. The color printing is very good too, but I would recommend using good quality paper for photos it really makes a difference with this printer.

There is a red eye reduction feature on the printer, which has been a lifesaver. My son is a little over a year old now and I’m a mom who takes a ton of pictures. Another great feature is that the printer is pretty quiet. I have an infant son and my office is right next to his bedroom and I have not woken him up from a nap with this printer.

When looking for home office equipment I was trying to get the best quality for the least money and I feel I did a good job with this printer. This printer is and Energy Star product, so I will continue to save money on energy costs while I am using it.

Lyn’s Note: We’ve found the Deskjet 6940 is indeed an excellent printer. It’s fast, networkable, and affordable. It uses the HP #96 Black Cartridge and the HP #97 Color Cartridges. It also uses specialty cartridges HP #99 and HP #100 for producing professional quality photos. While you can save money by purchasing compatible or remanufactured hp ink cartridges for this printer, my recommendation is to stick wit the genuine hp cartridges on this particular model.

Custom Dog and Cat Greeting Cards – User Tips

This is another user submitted tip. . .

About four years ago I started making custom, breed specific, dog and cat greeting cards using my Canon Pixma inkjet printer. I took them to dog events such as, fundraisers, dog and cat shows and they became a hit and sold very well.

I took pictures that I had taken myself and then researched the internet to find nice graphics of different dog breeds and put them on card stock. I then found specifics about each breed and put that on the back of my cards. I print them and package them six to a package. I put them in shrink wrap bags and they are very attractive.

Two years ago I decided that I needed to upgrade my printer and I purchased a HP Color LaserJet. My cards now look very professional and still sell very well. I have also printed pictures and had them put onto mugs, cloth bags and a mouse pad. I have had a lot of fun creating these items and they are always a hit with customers.

Lyn’s Note: Yet another fantastic tip! I think my customers must be the smartest people on the planet. An hp color laserjet printer, a supply of toner cartridges, some card stock and a lot of ingenuity, and you’ve got yourself a nice little business! I wish you the best of luck and thank you for your wonderful story!

Custom Vacation Picture Travel Log – User Tips

The following tip was submitted by one of our users!

We have a new HP laser printer that makes printing not only easy but fun. I recently printed a collection of pictures that included our vacation to Spain. By reducing the size of the pictures plus adding a short description it was a travel log without a hundred pages of only photos. Each page was numbered and contained a description of the location, sites, and people.

I was able to make a copy for each couple that we toured with and to personalize their copy with some fancy printing and page decorations. The printer and programs made it an interesting project and renewed my memories of the vacation.

Before purchasing a new printer, decide what it will be used for and how frequently you will use it. Will your current printer do the same job with equal results? Do you just require a faster printer or are you looking to use advanced printing techniques? Look on the internet to find reviews of the various printers to help make the correct choice.”
